A Wedding and a Holiday!

Let's go with the most recent happenings first this time around and start with LDW.

Friday... Oh, sweet Friday! It was my LAST Friday off for the summer. Sad day, sad. I have really enjoyed the extra day with the kids especially given our overwhelming summer schedule on the weekends. The extra day has been huge for one on one time together and was truly priceless!

We got Jack a new step stool so he can get up to the sink to brush his teeth and wash his hands. Not only does he have a blast being so independent, he also is more interested in brushing his teeth once again! Always a plus. Isn't he so adorable??

This is a photo of the kids just enamored by one another. (I love these shots because I plan to use them as reminders in 5 years to show them how much love there is between them!) The others are just some cute photos of the kids... Jack being a ham, and Sophie indulging in her delectable baby food.

Do you remember "Ring Around the Rosie"? Well, Jack loves it! Here he is doing his version...

Saturday of LDW, we hit the Great Minnesota Get Together... aka HELL on a Hot Day with Two Little Kids! Yep, probably going on hiatus next year. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't all bad. It was just the slew of people swarming and congesting every opportunity to get anywhere with two strollers and the heat. It was a cooker! The one thing that you can always rely on is some tasty, naughty food though!

We weren't too adventurous with food this year. Jack turned down the pronto pup, but at the fresh fruit cup (good boy!). I had cheese curds and a couple mini donuts, Mike got his usual oysters along with the curds, and we both had an enormous fresh squeezed lemonade! Sophie drooled. Oh, and of course we had to get a bucket of the cookies!! That is always our last stop. We buy the bucket and a couple cups of milk and run for our car to get home and in the shower! ;)

Sunday was spent at Anna and James' new house in Chanhassen! We had a get together with the original college roommates (Paige, Jaci, Anna, and I) along with our hubbies and all the cutie pies! Here are some random shots from the afternoon...

Monday was LD and it was spent at home in Rochester. We slept in, hung out around the house, had nap time, mowed the lawn, and got the yard looking much better!
After we got all nice and hot and dirty, we went to check out a big boy bed for Jack! IT IS TIME! Our little stinker has been invading our bed for a few weeks solid now. We are hoping that once we get his new mattress, he will enjoy his own space so we can take back our own!

Now, we go in reverse. We had Adam and Crystal Landherr's wedding the weekend before LDW, and was it a good time or what?! I am pretty sure that any and all of my party girl was resurrected that evening and all for a good cause. If you can't party like a rockstar at a great wedding, what good are you? (Don't ask how Sunday morning was - K?!) Here are some of the fun pictures from that night.

If you didn't notice, there weren't any of Jack and Sophie. They stayed home with Grandma and Grandpa after the ceremony. We knew it would be better for all of us. They got to hang out in their jammies and snuggie with Grandma and Grandpa and we got a night out. Perfect!

So, in the photos below, you will notice Grandpa giving Jack a lesson on target shooting and Grandma with Sophie in her new sweater! Grandma knitted it with her own little hands (as Dad says)! It is to die for and I am so lucky that she loves to knit for the kids!!!

We hope you had a great LDW and that you found a great way to (unofficially) end your summer!

It was so great to see you, Sophie, Jack & Mike on LDW!! I am just so bummed we hadn't met baby doll before then. They're both sweethearts, and it can't be another 6+ months until we see each other again, okay??

Love ya!

No way! We have to get something going between Thanksgiving and Christmas!! That would be fun!
