So, this past weekend, Friday to be specific... Mike and I celebrated our 5-year anniversary. And, while we stayed in Rochester for the whole celebration, you could've convinced me we were 500 miles away in some resort town! I think we've decided the location doesn't matter as much as just having a solid 24 hours together to just be... It was just great! We ate a great dinner and golfed 18 holes together! We looked at our wedding albums and agreed that life and all it's brought us in five years is pretty amazing! Oh, and I got flowers delivered to me at work... which was super sweet and fun!
Meanwhile, Grandma and Great-Aunt Karen came down to play and care for Jack and Sophie! They seriously can hardly wait for Grandma to get to our house once I break the news she is coming. (This goes equally for Grandpa, however, he was out of town on fishing trip this particular weekend. Jack still wasn't OK with that, but he understood.) So, they played, they napped, went to the library, my Mom and Aunt Karen did ALL OF OUR LAUNDRY (that is one of the best gifts anyone can give me these days!), they made malts, ate carmel and apples... but mostly carmel by the look of their sticky little faces when we got home, and of course had movie night with chocolate malts and popcorn. (There is never a lack of sugar when Grandma is around!) Loved each of these similar photos for different reasons, as you'll see...
Sunday, we ventured out to a new spot in town we hadn't yet been to... Quarry Hill Nature Center. They had their Fall Festival and it was the perfect day to get out and about and enjoy the weather all together! We checked out some animals, colored pumpkins, and Mike took Jack on a canoe ride in the pond there!
